BY CAR

We have private car parking alongside Ambleside Townhouse. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. On the rare occasion that the car park is full, there is a public car park just meters away.

Complimentary parking included with your room rate starts from 3pm on your day of arrival and ends at 10.30am on your day of departure.

Early check in from 2pm with parking from 12 noon can be added to your reservation at a cost of £10.00 if pre booked. (Subject to availability).

Late check out of 11.30am with parking till 1pm is available and can be added to your booking at a cost of £10.00 if pre booked. (Subject to availability).

BIKES

The Lake District must be one of the best parts of the country for motorbikes and cycling. If you are arriving by bike, you are welcome to store your bike in our secure lock-up garage.

If you are travelling from the south, leave the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A590, then A591 towards Kendal and Windermere. Ambleside Townhouse is on Lake Road in the centre of Ambleside.

If you are arriving from the north, leave the M6 at Junction 40 at Penrith and follow the A66 to Keswick and then take the A591 to Ambleside, Ambleside Townhouse lies in the centre of town, just follow the main road through and we are on the right hand side before the Petrol Station.

BY RAIL

The West Coast main line from London to Glasgow stops at Oxenholme, the Lake District. From here, you can catch a connecting train to Windermere station. Both stations are well served by taxis or local buses.
