The Lake District is filled to the brim with wonderful sights to see, fantastic activities to do and plenty to learn about, so we thought we’d put together a quick list of our favourites… We asked the team at the Lakes Lodge where their best-loved places to go or things to do in the Lakes were, and narrowed them down to the following five…
- Grizedale Forest
We thought we’d start the list with our most family-friendly attraction… Grizedale Forest offers a wonderful experience for the whole family, where you can enjoy a range of activities and trails for both walking and cycling!
- Windermere Lake Cruises
We may be biased considering we are right by the Lake… But nothing quite beats the views and experience you get from the Windermere Lake Cruises as you take in the gorgeous views and learn the history of the surrounding areas.
- Claife Viewing Station
On the other side of Lake Windermere is the beautiful Claife Viewing Station, an ancient tourist attraction from 18th century, with endless lake views and waterside paths.
- Beatrix Potter's House
Not too far from Claife Viewing Station is Beatrix Potter's House at Hill Top, where you can discover the inspiration behind the iconic World of Peter Rabbit.
- Loughrigg Fell
With it being the Lake District, we had to include one of the many fells! Loughrigg Fell is situated just outside of Ambleside and provides an abundance of walking trails to get you there along with many beautiful views over the surrounding fells and tarns.
